When San Francisco City gets mentioned, I guess we all think about the famous red bridge “Golden Gate’’.
But for me, one of the coolest things of this place is that every corner has the power of surprising you visually and emotionally; and the drama to take you to a trip from where you won’t want to escape. Walking around the center of the city through so many beautiful buildings, riding the Cable Car and suddenly being in the romantic North Beach having a coffee, visit the Pier to have breakfast on Saturday or going around Chinatown, the Golden Gate Park and then visit Castro and have lunch in Mission and having to decide among all the options there are…is a real adventure!! Of course, after that, you’ll have to go through the Cable Car’s route, on foot to burn out the calories!!!...trust me, is worth it!!!
There’s nothing better than going on one of those trips where the only thing you do is eating, drinking, and living as one of the city locals, at least for a few days, as I had the pleasure to do. It’s a whole “religious experience’’ like Enrique Iglesias says!! Don’t forget to visit Napa and Sonomawith those spectacular vineyards …I could write a whole script about that!!! But this time I visited all the Farmers Markets that you can find 7 days a week in different places and that not only are in the center but in other nearby cities as Berkeley, Piedmont and Oakland… not leaving behind all the delicious restaurants that are at the ’’other side’’ of the bridge.
Being able to have contact with the Farmers and the Chefs or the common people like you and me that enjoy while look, touch and smell the flowers, vegetables, cheeses, grains, fruits, everything…is something else! I truly admire the residents of this Organic and Green city, where the environment is being taking care of while they live and eat really well!
