Doreen Colondres wants to convince the world that The Kitchen Doesn't Bite!

A tireless world traveler with a fresh and charismatic vibe. Passionate about fresh, flavorful, and seasonal ingredients, she encourages people to enjoy cooking and also the time we spend eating. Her mission is to convince us that cooking is a heritage and a tradition that is fun, relaxing, easy, romantic, but more importantly, healthy.

Her background of family cooking values motivated her to create La Cocina No Muerde and The Kitchen Doesn’t Bite. Doreen’s first book was published by Random Penguin House (2015) achieving the #1 best seller regional and international and she is also the food and wine editor for more than 10 Hispanic publications. She frequently hosts cooking segments on “Despierta América” from Univisión and hosted cooking shows on FoxLife/Utilísima, airing in 16 countries for 4 years.

She was the chef behind the successful health campaign "Reto28" from Univisión network, followed by more than 400K Latinos in 30 days. In 2015 Doreen became the National Pork Board Celebrity Chef, hosting a powerful online and national media campaign featuring her pork recipes. Since 2013 Doreen is also a Chef for Novo Nordisk pharmaceutical, a leader in diabetes care. Yearly, she hosted more than 30 live cooking shows around the US, to increase awareness about obesity and diabetes.

In 2013 she became the first Hispanic Celebrity Chef for the Bordeaux Wine Council, the most prestigious wine region in the world. As a spokesperson for the "Viva Bordeaux" campaign she designed a Latin recipe guide paired with Bordeaux wines. In 2012 & 2013 she was Bumble Bee Food’s Celebrity Chef. As their only bicultural chef, she developed recipes embracing "BeeWell for Life®" brand philosophy. She has also worked with Nestlé La Lechera, Got Milk, Target and California Raisins.

Doreen is also a wine lover, certified with the WSET 2, CMS 1 & USSA 2. She studied at the École du Vin in Bordeaux, France, worked the 2016 harvest in Chateau Biac in Bordeaux and was a judge and spokesperson of the 2011 excellent vintage for DO Ribera del Duero in Spain. She studied in culinary schools in NY, CA, graduated in FL and also has a BBA in Business & Marketing.
